2008 National Civil Rights & Equity Conference : More than 200 CWA members participated in CWA's National Civil Rights & Equity Conference in April 2008. Participants heard from prominent civil rights activists and participated in panel discussions and workshops challenging them to more fully integrate civil rights issues with the union's core work of organizing, political activism and representation. The theme to this year's conference was "A Movement....Not a Moment."

2008 Legislative Conference : More than 400 CWA members attended the 2008 Legislative Conference which focused on the union's four major goals: passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, affordable health care, jobs and fair trade policies, and retirement security. Delegates heard from presidential candidates Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama, visited lawmakers' offices on Capitol Hill and discussed top legislative priorities.

T-Mobile organizing : Through a new union named "T-Union" T-Mobile workers are networking with unionized T-Mobile workers in Germany and CWA-represented wireless workers in the United States to learn more about how union representation can improve their jobs and working conditions.
